Oh be sure...the danger was real!

Today has been a bit of a lazy Sunday for the Hubs and I. True to our normal routine it was off to life group this morning, worship service, and then out for a relaxing lunch. With both our spiritual and physical appetites satisfied we decided to head home and take advantage of the quiet Sunday afternoon by getting in a nice little nap. It's rare that the Hubs and I have the opportunity to fit a nap into our schedule, and even rarer that I am actually able to doze off as I have never been much of a nap taker. The same can not be said for either Piglet or Pogo...they both possess the ability to drop off to sleep at the drop of a hat (I have to admit, I may be more than a tad jealous of their ability to do so), and it was after one of his many daily naps that Pogo alerted me to his need to go outside with his usual scratching at the back door. Pogo seems to rather enjoy his ventures outside...chasing his nemesis the squirrel, sniffing all the scents, barking at neighboring dogs, and at times even enjoying a nice nap on the patio in the sunshine. While I have no issue with most of his behaviors outside, there is one I try my best to curb...the barking. Unfortunately Pogo has a tendency to bark at even the slightest of noises which usually results in a chain reaction culminating in all of the neighboring dogs joining in on the fun. True to form Pogo felt the need to set off yet another chain reaction this afternoon causing me to call him to come back inside. Unfortunately for Pogo Lilibet decided to head out the back door just as he was making his way towards it. You may be asking yourself "just why is that unfortunate?"...the answer to that is Pogo has had occasion to meet with the business end of Lilibet's claws and will now do everything he can to prevent himself from feeling them yet again. In order to ensure he did not have to share the same three foot space of the doorway with Lilibet he decided to skirt the outside edges of the patio while making his way to the back door ensuring Lilibet would long be clear of the doorway by the time he arrived. I know I shouldn't have been as amused as I was at Pogo's predicament, but I swear you could almost see him desperately trying to figure out how to safely navigate his way to the door without possibly angering Lilibet. Pogo did indeed manage to safely navigate his way back into the house (where he promptly lay down to take yet another nap), and I think he may even have forgiven me for laughing at his predicament. I hope you too have had reason to laugh today, and if not perhaps reading of Pogo's predicament will provide you that reason.

Blessings, Candi 💕
