Apr. 23rd - The Day I Was Reminded What Puddles Are For ☔️

Why they're for stomping in of course!

Mother Nature has been on an absolute tear here in Central Texas. We have not had April showers today...we have had April deluges! If ever there was a day to stay inside today was that day. Unfortunately I could not as I had errands that needed to be run today. With most of my errands run, I had only one more stop I wanted to make (to my local craft supply retailer...where else?!), and it seemed Mother Nature had finally decided to lessen the deluge to a steady rain. While I was glad to see a bit of a break in the rain, I was still raised in New England...where we hope for the best, but prepare for the worst...so in true New England fashion I made certain to take my umbrella into the store with me. It would seem I made a wise decision, as I was wandering the aisles looking for an item I needed to complete a small project, I heard the unmistakable sound of yet another deluge of rain on the roof of the store (a metal roof judging by the amount of noise). Normally I would wander the aisles in an attempt to wait out the deluge, but I needed to get home so I made my way to the register to check out. With my purchase completed it was time to bite the bullet and make my way to my truck (good thing I'd brought my umbrella with me!). I most certainly was not very happy about having to brave the rain in order to make it to my truck, but as I was doing my best to get there as quickly as humanly possible I witnessed a sight that instantly brought a smile to my face. Headed towards me through the parking lot were a small boy and his mother, a mother who had the patience of a saint I must say because that little boy was having the absolute best time of his life stomping through every puddle he could find. The look of pure joy on his face was priceless, and who wouldn't have a smile brought to their face at the sight of such happiness?! Today a little boy playing in the puddles was just what I needed to make a rainy day a little bit better, and hopefully the thought of an overjoyed little boy stomping through the puddles has made your day better too.
