And I didn't get burned...much.

The April showers have continued into today (thank goodness it's the last day of April) here in Central Texas, making it yet another perfect day to stay inside, and I did just that. Having spent the majority of my afternoon yesterday creating designs for an assortment of sublimation blanks I had purchased as trial pieces, I decided to take the plunge and attempt to apply some of my designs to a few of the blanks. I am very new to this entire process, and for the most part I have been learning as I go (I swear...there are YouTube videos for almost anything), so I was both excited and nervous to attempt to transfer the designs. Being more than a bit intimidated by the smaller size of the earring blanks, I opted to work on the clock blank I had ordered. After attaching my printed sublimation design to the blank it was time to break out my press and bring on the heat...trust me when I say four hundred degrees is a LOT of heat! With the heat applied for the allotted time, it was now time to allow the clock face to cool for a bit before removing the sublimation paper to reveal the finished product. Once I was able to handle the clock face (yes I learned the hard way a bit of patience was required) I eagerly, and a bit nervously, removed the sublimation paper in order to see whether I had been successful or not. To my great relief I was quite happy with the finished product. With one successful attempt under my belt, I now had the courage to try my hand at earrings. I have to be honest...there was some success as well as a few missteps, but for the most part I would consider the entire experiment to have been a success. Spending yet another afternoon putting my creative skills to use was extremely fulfilling, and I hope you too have had the opportunity to utilize the skills that bring you happiness as well.
Blessings, Candi 💕
