Something very special indeed!

I think it's fair to say spring has officially arrived here in Central Texas (the thick coating of pollen on people's vehicles is a dead giveaway), and it seems it's not only the beautiful spring blooms gracing us with their vibrant colors...it would appear the dragonflies have decided to show off their vibrant colors as well. As I took a few moments to scroll through my Facebook page, I spotted a photo of a strikingly vibrant blue dragonfly taken by local wildlife and nature photographer Brian Boyd. I know most people consider dragonflies to be just another insect buzzing around making a nuisance of themselves, but they are much more than that to me. The Hubs and I moved to Central Texas a few years after my dad passed away, and I have to be honest...my dads passing was particularly difficult for me to deal with. It was a day not too long after we had moved to Central Texas, a day the loss of my dad was weighing heavily on my mind, the Hubs youngest and I were out shopping when a beautiful dragonfly landed on the front of my shirt directly over my heart. While some would just brush off the dragonfly and go about their day, I simply stood there until that beautiful dragonfly decided it was time to continue on it's journey. To me that dragonfly settling over my heart was my dad's way of telling me though he was no longer here with me physically, he would always be with me in my heart. To this day I've always felt a sense of peace any time I've seen a dragonfly, and happening upon that beautiful picture today reminded me of the day my dad came to visit in the form of a dragonfly. I hope there is something which brings you the same sense of peace a dragonfly does for me.

Blessings, Candi 💕
