And no, it was not a partridge...lol!

Well it seems the sun has forsaken Central Texas yet again, making for another bleak and chilly day. Exactly just how chilly the day was became abundantly clear to me as I opened the back door for Piglet Grace and Pogo to go outside. As I stood in the doorway, wishing both Piglet Grace and Pogo would move a tad bit faster to get their butts out the door, I noticed a handful of yellow blooms on one of the pear trees just beyond the fence line (I apologize for the poor pictures but I was trying to get a picture without actually standing out in the cold...lol). In the five years I’ve lived in this house I have never before seen blooms of any type on the pear trees. Normally the sight of blooms on a tree would not seem all that remarkable to me, but the fact that these particular blooms have decided to make an appearance in December is baffling to me. Not only have they made an appearance in December...they are thriving! They have managed to overcome not only a lack of consistent sunshine, but overnight temperatures which have hovered at, or below, the freezing mark as well. The resilience these lovely blooms have shown is inspiring to me. I can’t help but think, if these blooms can overcome such adverse conditions and still manage to thrive, what is there to keep me from doing the same? While this may have been a particularly tough year for a lot of us, we can all learn a lesson from these hardy little blooms and persevere regardless of the adversities we may face. I hope you too have found yourself inspired to persevere and overcome your adversities.

Blessings, Candi 💕
