Who knew...albino deer really do exist!

It has been an exceptionally beautiful day here in Central Texas. With the temperatures climbing into the high sixties, and a sky filled with puffy white clouds, it was the perfect day to go for a drive, and that is exactly what the Hubs and I did this afternoon. There are many county roads and country lanes here in our little slice of Central Texas winding lazily through a landscape dotted with farms covered in green fields and ranches with a multitude of different creatures. It is not uncommon to see pastures filled with horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and even the occasional llama or alpaca, but today was the first time I have seen an albino deer! At first I thought my eyes were playing a trick on me, surely I had not just seen what my brain was trying to tell me I had, I must have been mistaken! I quickly asked the Hubs to turn around and circle back so I could verify I had indeed seen an albino deer. As we approached the wooded pasture we had passed by moments ago, it was confirmed...my eyes were not playing a trick on me after all. Lying in the wooded pasture, surrounded by his harem, was Casper the Buck! As he lay there in the pasture, displaying an impressive set of antlers, I couldn’t help but think he was one of the most majestic creatures I have ever seen. I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures I took, I would have had to climb down into a ditch filled with scrub (and probably snakes and who knows what else) to get better pictures. Sadly they do not represent how truly regal and majestic he was. I find the variety and beauty of the creatures God has created simply astounding, and feel blessed on those occasions I discover a creature as regal as Casper the Buck. Hopefully you too will be blessed to discover a creature you find as astounding and regal as I found Casper the Buck.

Blessings, Candi 💕
