It’s always nice to discover a kindred spirit.

A large part of my life has been spent living what some people would consider a nomadic lifestyle. While my childhood was spent mostly in the northeastern part of the country, my adult life has seen me move through six states and finally settle in Central Texas. As you can imagine, moving as often as I have tends to make forming meaningful friendships a tad difficult. Don’t get me wrong, there are many people whom I consider to be dear friends that I‘ve met in my lifetime, but there is something different about having a close friend nearby. I have been blessed since moving to Central Texas to have been befriended by quite a few people whom I consider to be close friends, if not non-biological family, and today I had the opportunity to get to know one of those friends even better. We met for lunch today so we might exchange our somewhat belated Christmas gifts, and in the course of our conversation we discovered we have quite a bit in common. We’ve shared some of the same struggles in our lives, and more importantly we discovered we share not only quite a few common interests, but also more than a few character traits as well. As we sat together chatting over our meal, discussing some of our common interests...such as the fact we both want to have donkeys (in my case miniature ones that look like Eeyore...my spirit animal), it felt as if we’d known each other for much longer than the twelve months or so we actually have known one another. Being blessed with the opportunity to find someone you can call a kindred spirit can be a rare thing and I feel blessed to have had that opportunity today. I hope you also have had the opportunity to find your kindred spirit.

Blessings, Candi 💕
