Feb. 10th - The Day The Arctic Blew Into Texas 🌬

And it appears it intends to stay around a while.

It seems Mother Nature has decided to unleash a polar vortex that has dragged extremely frigid air from Canada into Central Texas, and as a result the temperatures here in Central Texas have plummeted. As I’ve said before...I am not a big fan of winter, the cold, the snow, and the ice are all things I had thought I had left behind when I left New England...it seems I was wrong. Today it seems my dislike of winter weather was actually a blessing in disguise. Wednesday is the day I have class, and as usual, I still had not completed the required reading for tonight’s class (procrastination, it seems, is my superpower). Thanks to the plummeting temperatures, today felt like the perfect day to spend curled up on the couch under a comfy blanket reading a good book, and due to my procrastination that book was my textbook. I didn’t have to complete the reading on my own though, Piglet decided she would lend moral support by curling up right next to me to ensure I didn’t get distracted. That tactic might have been a bit more successful had she not spent the majority of the time snoring rather loudly...Lol! Thanks to Piglet’s support, as noisy as it may have been, I finished the required reading with time to spare. Sometimes it takes a nudge from outside forces to get us on the path to where we need to be, and today I was happy Mother Nature provided me with that nudge. If the weather reports are correct, it seems Mother Nature’s nudge just may last a few more days, and who knows what I might accomplish if these arctic temperatures keep me indoors! If you’ve found yourself in a situation where you need a little nudge to help you focus on the task at hand, I hope you find that nudge...whatever the source may be.
Blessings, Candi 💕
