Feb. 12th - The Day Piglet Played Bambi 🦌

I think it’s safe to say she is not a fan of ice!

It seems our pesky polar vortex has decided it is fond of the Central Texas area, so fond of it in fact it has decided to hang around through the majority of next week (Ugh!!!!). With temperatures still holding at freezing or below, the coating of ice we received yesterday still coats a lot of surfaces, especially those not exposed to a great deal of sunlight...like our back patio. This is a fact Piglet learned the hard way unfortunately. As she eagerly headed out the patio door this morning, she was quickly reminded it was coated in ice as all four of her paws headed in different directions. The result was her splayed out on the patio much the same way as the adorable little fawn in Disney’s beloved classic Bambi. I know I shouldn’t have, but I could not for the life of me contain the fit of laughter brought on by the sight of poor Piglet desperately trying to regain traction on the icy patio. Thankfully she was not injured, other than maybe her pride, and having finally regained traction she headed out into the yard to do her business. Her return trip across the patio was much less eventful as she apparently had learned her lesson and made the trip back into the house much slower and quite gingerly. Rest assured...she received plenty of snuggles today, in part to assuage my guilty conscience for laughing at her plight, but mostly because she may be slightly spoiled. I hope you too have had a reason to break out in a fit of laughter today.
