That would be Piglet’s separation anxiety...not mine.

Central Texas, it seems, is now facing what is being referred to as ā€œthe threat of unprecedented winter weatherā€ for the next few days. As you can imagine, this has thrown the good people of Central Texas into an absolute tizzy...let the panic buying begin! Thank goodness I had already placed my curbside grocery order days ago (it’s a good thing too...the grocery store was an absolute zoo!), but unfortunately I scheduled the pickup for today. I say unfortunately because our truck had not left the driveway in days and was covered in an extremely thick layer of ice. Ironically, having grown up in New England, I was always in the habit of keeping an ice scraper, snow brush, and extra blanket in my vehicle ā€œjust in caseā€, however this was a habit the Hubs had, after a decade or so of my living south of the Mason/Dixon Line, finally convinced me I should break. Apparently that was a bad idea. After having let the truck run for several minutes with the heater at full blast, there was still not much headway made in removing it’s icy coating. As the Hubs was valiantly attempting to remove the remaining ice with his H-E-B rewards card I remembered we should have a plastic putty knife in one of our junk drawers. The reason for said putty knife is shown in the pictures above...sweet little Piglet Grace decided she did not like being left alone as a puppy, and expressed her displeasure by chewing the corner of the hallway wall of our old house in Shreveport, and the putty knife was purchased so I could repair her handiwork (please excuse the poor mudding skills...drywall is definitely not my forte). It would seem Piglet’s bad behavior became our saving grace today...trust me when I say a plastic putty knife makes a much better ice scraper than an H-E-B rewards card! I guess this just goes to show...even bad behavior can sometimes have a good outcome. Not that I am wishing bad behavior on you, but should you experience it, hopefully some good will come of it eventually.
