Feb. 14th - The Day I Didn’t Get A Card Or Flowers 💐

I got something much, much, much better...biscuits and sausage gravy!

Valentine’s Day is traditionally a day of exchanging cards, flowers, or sweets with your love...the Hubs and I however are not the traditional kind. Instead, the Hubs has shown his love for me by making my all time favorite breakfast...biscuits and sausage gravy! Those of you who have not been below the Mason/Dixon Line have probably never had the good fortune to have enjoyed a delicious meal of homemade biscuits and sausage gravy (if so, I am truly sad for you...you have no idea what you’re missing!). I have been blessed not only to find a wonderful man who loves me with all his heart, but one who can make the most wonderful biscuits and gravy from scratch! I was first introduced to this tasty dish by my Granny Violet, but sadly I was only able to have this special treat when we traveled from New England to Arkansas to visit, which sadly was not often enough. As I enjoyed my yummy plate of biscuits and sausage gravy today, not only was I feeling special and loved, I was also feeling nostalgic. That delicious dish brought back some wonderful memories of times spent with my granny in her small but cozy kitchen. Sadly, my granny passed away when I was very young, making the memories brought to mind today that much more special. I am truly blessed to have found such a wonderful man as I have in the Hubs, and I hope you too have found someone special whose simple gestures, such as making you your favorite breakfast, bring back many special and wonderful memories.
