What does one do when life gives you snow...you make snow ice cream of course!

Mother Nature shows no signs of changing her mind and ending the winter weather apocalypse she has brought to Central Texas, so I have decided I may as well embrace the snow. A good friend was kind enough to pass on a simple yet delicious recipe for snow ice cream, and I have to say I was intrigued. Due to the fact that we have two dogs, using snow from the back yard was definitely not an option, and the front yard, for some reason, always seems to be covered in leaves...leaving me with very limited options for scooping the required four cups of snow. As I pondered my options I remembered the large snow drift that had accumulated on our truck, a.k.a. the rhino horn, and decided it would most likely be my safest option (though I did feel a bit like a poacher for taking a piece of rhino horn). After very quickly gathering my four cups of snow, I headed into the kitchen to whip up my very first ever batch of snow ice cream. I really can’t explain why I’ve never before made snow ice cream...I grew up in New England for goodness sake, and had never thought of using snow to make ice cream...until today. I must have done something right because it not only got a stamp of approval from the Hubs, it also got the Lilibet stamp of approval. For some, learning is not necessarily considered a fun activity, but learning to turn snow into ice cream most definitely was for me. I hope you too will be inspired to learn a fun new activity.

Blessings, Candi 💕
