I’m pretty sure all that fluff isn’t just fur!

The Central Texas winter apocalypse still shows no signs of relenting so we have spent yet another day inside. Although the humans in the house may not be thrilled with the situation, it would appear Lilibet is fine with it. I think the only complaint she may have is that “the stoopid hoomans and one of the dumb doggos are taking up all the space on the couch!” It’s a rare occasion when Lilibet will allow the stoopid hoomans to share her space, let alone one of the dumb doggos, so I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to pet her before she decided to change her mind. She has no issues with being petted so long as you obey her rules (warning...those are subject to change at any moment!), one of those rules being “do not pet the tummy at any time!”. Today she must have been in a particularly generous mood because she did not tear me to ribbons when I accidentally touched the forbidden zone of her tummy. After getting over the shock of not being made to bleed for my transgression, I realized Lilibet‘s fluffiness is not only because she has a substantial amount of fur...it seems there is also a substantial amount of pudge under all that fur. Don’t get me wrong...I am in no way body shaming Lilibet, it’s not her fault the stoopid hoomans apparently leave a tad bit too much food in her dish...I choose to believe her fluffiness is a sign of being well loved. Although cats are decidedly different creatures from dogs, they still have their own way of showing love, and I choose to believe Lilibet’s moment of tolerating the stoopid hooman‘s touch was her way of showing her love. That, and the fact I was not bleeding, made my heart feel a little lighter today. Hopefully your heart was made to feel a little lighter today as well.

Blessings, Candi 💕
