Yeehaw...git along little vortex!
Finally...the winter apocalypse of 2021 has left Central Texas (Hallelujah)!! For the first time in almost a full week the temperature rose above the freezing mark and the sun graced us with it’s presence. This oh so welcome combination of rising temperatures and sunlight resulted in much of the accumulated snow and ice finally beginning to melt away, thereby releasing the good people of Central Texas to leave their homes and wander out into a newly thawed world. I truly can’t express the happiness I felt today knowing this seemingly never ending winter apocalypse has finally come to an end. Having grown up in New England I am certainly no stranger to winter weather, but New England is an area wholly familiar with, and equipped to deal with, winter weather conditions. Central Texas and it’s residents, however, are most definitely not. The unprecedented conditions placed a heavy strain on the infrastructure and utility systems of Central Texas that resulted in many of the residents of Central Texas having experienced going days without power, or water, or both. While the good people of Central Texas may not be prepared to deal with the horrible conditions of this past week, they most certainly are equipped to care for their own in times of need. The genuine care and concern they have shown for one another has been amazing to witness. While it may take time for Central Texas to fully recover, I have no doubt given the grit and determination of it’s citizens, it will not only recover fully...it will be made all the more strong for having gone through these terrible circumstances. Should you ever be in need, I hope you will be able to find the same resilience as the fine people of Central Texas.
Blessings, Candi 💕
