I live in Texas y’all...what else did you expect me to get back in?!

Welcome to my first post of the year for 2021! As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I have been MIA since December and I feel I owe you, my much loved readers, an explanation. January marked the one year anniversary of my mother’s passing, and was pretty much the exclamation point on the dumpster fire of a year that was 2020 (there are many other phrases I could use to describe 2020, but most of them are not family friendly, Lol). I will be honest with you and let you know this past month has been a very difficult one for me and I decided to allow myself some time to work through those difficulties. While not all of those difficulties have resolved themselves, I have made a lot of progress in overcoming the majority of them, and for that I owe a HUGE “Thank you!“ to the Hubs and a group of friends whom I consider to be my non-biological family. Traditionally, most people celebrate January 1st as the beginning of the New Year and a chance to start fresh, setting new resolutions and goals. Knowing January would be a difficult time for me, I chose instead to select February 1st as the start of my New Year and my chance to set new resolutions and goals. One resolution and goal is to be much more diligent in finding That One Little Thing that makes me smile, laugh, or just makes my heart feel a little lighter, and to be much more consistent with sharing those moments with you on a daily basis. I hope you will continue to accompany on my journey to do so, and if January has not turned out as you had hoped it would, I invite you to join me in making February 1st your new New Year.

Blessings, Candi 💕
