Oh how I’ve missed you sweet sunshine!

After having shown Mother Nature’s polar vortex the door, Central Texas continues to thaw. Temperatures have continued to climb, reaching into the fifties today. I must say, I have rather eagerly awaited the opportunity to open the blinds in the house, and today’s rising temperature allowed me to do just that. In an effort to retain heat this past week, every window covering in the house has been pulled firmly shut, leaving the house in a perpetual state of dimness. While it is a very effective method of retaining heat, it is also a very effective method of creating a gloomy atmosphere and mood. While I’m not one to spend an inordinate amount of time in the sunlight (I swear...my skin is so fair it may actually repel sunlight), I still need my daily dose of vitamin D...the same as anyone else. Although temperatures have continued to rise, they still have not met my minimum temperature requirement...meaning my cold intolerant self is still not ready to venture outside. While it’s not quite the same as being outside, standing in the sunniest window of the house and feeling the lovely warmth of the sunlight was extremely satisfying, and did wonders to improve my mood. Even though I would have preferred to be able to sit outside in order to enjoy the warmth of the sun, I simply had to do what Central Texans have had to do for the past week...adapt and overcome. No matter the circumstances life, or even Mother Nature, may throw at you...I hope you too will find a way to adapt and overcome.
Blessings, Candi 💕
