There is no pallet as beautiful as nature’s pallet.

It was another beautiful day here in Central Texas, but I have to be honest...it was a hard day for me today, both physically and emotionally. I’ve not been feeling the best for a few days and woke this morning with a headache and the sadness of knowing today would have been my mother’s seventy sixth birthday, the second since she passed. I guess you could say I was suffering from a case of the wintertime blues. Winter has never been one of my favorite seasons, probably because I grew up in an area where winter meant most of nature became gray and lifeless...almost devoid of any color. While winter here in Central Texas is not as colorless as a New England winter, I still find myself longing for the beauty and color of spring. Spring, to me, has always represented a renewal of life, a fresh start if you will. The newly emerging plant life attracting butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees, the awakening of animals who’ve been hibernating, and the return of birds who’ve flown south to escape winter’s grasp have always filled me with joy. The color pallet of spring is so vibrant and beautiful...there truly is no better artist than God. Today I was treated to a glimpse of the beautiful spring pallet to come in the form of another beautiful photo taken by local wildlife photographer Brian Boyd. As I gazed upon the photo, I couldn’t help but be inspired by the beauty of the colors of the two birds (I apologize for not naming them by species...birdwatching is not in my skill set) preparing their nest for the coming spring set against a gorgeous blue sky. A photo filled with vibrant oranges and blues helped me to break out of my blue mood and my heart feel a little lighter today. I hope you too are inspired and cheered by the beauty of nature God has created.

Blessings, Candi 💕
