If you know me...you know snow does NOT make me smile!

ree

A few weeks ago, we here in Central Texas experienced the rare phenomenon of a snowfall that resulted in what, for Central Texas, was considered a sizable amount of accumulation. Having grown up in New England, I have seen more than my fair share of snowfall, and to be perfectly honest I had hoped by moving south I would finally be rid of the stuff (snow, after all, is a four letter word in my book)! While I may not have been thrilled to see snow that day, it seems there were many others who were...both human and animal. As I took a moment to quickly scroll through my Facebook feed today I came across a photo, taken by a wonderful local wildlife photographer named Brian Boyd, showing three gorgeous horses happily frolicking in the falling snow. Regardless of my personal feelings about snow, the sight of those beautiful creatures seemingly having such a wonderful time playing in the snow brought a smile to my face. I’m quite certain they had never experienced snowfall before, and their reaction to it reminded me of the joy of experiencing something new for the first time. It seems the older we grow, the less we take notice of the joy in experiencing new things. Seeing that picture reminded me I should make more of an effort to take notice of the joy a new experience brings. I hope you too will have the opportunity to feel the joy a new experience can bring.

Blessings, Candi 💕
