And oh boy...were those bubbles ever so needed!

It seems it’s migration time for the Cedar Waxwing, a lovely little bird who, it seems, likes to leave a not so lovely nor so little mess in it’s wake! There have been flocks of these little birds arriving here in Central Texas and they have definitely made their presence known! You would be hard pressed to find a single sidewalk, driveway, house, or vehicle they have not left their distinctive little purple splat on, and our truck is no exception! Fortunately, it has been a lovely warm and sunny day here in Central Texas...just the kind of day most people decide is the perfect day to have their vehicle washed, and I was no exception. As you could imagine, there was no lack of lines for every car wash here in town. I was, however, fortunate enough to locate one whose line was not backed up out to the street, and settled in to await my turn to drive through. As my turn finally came, I pulled forward as instructed by the large blinking green arrow, stopped as the large blinking red X instructed, and made myself comfy while the car wash did what a car wash does. Soon enough it came time for the protective sealant to be applied, and a bright colorful coating of bubbles was deposited on the truck. I don’t know what it is they put in those bubbles, but it never fails...every time they are applied, the entire interior of the truck smells just like a pack of Fruit Stripe gum (that was the one with the multi-colored zebra on the pack...in case you don’t remember). The scent of Fruit Stripe gum brings me right back to my childhood, and all the fun times I had when I was younger. I have to say, it was nice to be transported back to a time when life was simple, and the demands of adulthood were unknown to me, it definitely made my heart feel a little lighter today. I hope you too experience something which brings you back to your childhood, and away from the demands of adulthood, even if for only a moment.
