If you now have Tiny Tim singing Tiptoe Through The Tulips With Me stuck in your head...you’re welcome!

Wow...what a day the Hubs and I had! After sleeping in for a bit this morning we decided to head to Ft. Worth for the Irish breakfast I mentioned yesterday. We hadn’t even made it to the truck from the trailer before we discovered our campground is apparently horse friendly. I have to say that was a first for me...I didn’t even know you could buy a horse trailer with a slide out! We also quickly discovered going to an Irish pub on St. Patrick’s Day weekend is not necessarily the best of decisions, but that full Irish breakfast was definitely worth it...we had plenty of fuel to get us through our day! Our next destination was the tulip fields which were about an hour north of Ft. Worth, and the trip there was absolutely gorgeous. When most people think of Texas ranches they automatically think Texas Longhorns or cattle, but this section of Texas was most definitely horse country. We passed pasture after pasture of gently rolling hills with dozens of gorgeous horses. I have always considered horses to be one of the most majestic creatures God created. Sadly we weren’t able to stop to get any pictures of those beautiful creatures, but I did manage to get a picture of a cute miniature donkey and horse...lol! As we completed our journey through Texas horse country and approached the tulip fields, we were stunned to learn it is apparently quite the attraction, there were lines of vehicles coming from three different directions to get into the parking lot! I have to say though, it was worth the wait...the tulips were stunning and it didn’t take me long to fill my basket with some of the most beautiful blooms I’ve ever seen (it took me a bit to get the hang picking them correctly though...lol). After having my blooms arranged in a lovely bouquet it was time to head to our next destination...the stockyards in Ft. Worth (yet another destination you may want to avoid on St. Patrick’s Day weekend!). As to be expected when wandering the stockyards we saw plenty of longhorns, some you could stand next to for a picture and yet others you could actually sit on to have your picture taken, as well as a new hotel called the Drover complete with a giant drover out front (unbeknownst to me at the time, it would appear a precocious little cutie in pink decided to pose for my picture of said drover). There was one very unexpected, however extremely appropriate for this weekend, sight we came across, a leprechaun motorcycle helmet...now that’s something you don’t see everyday! With our exploration of the stockyards complete, we next headed to a wonderful Italian restaurant in Southlake for dinner to finish out our day. I have to say it was wonderful to be able to spend such a fun filled day with the Hubs! Hopefully you’ve been able to spend a fun filled day with someone very special to you as well.

Blessings, Candi 💕
