And now I bet you have Take The Long Way Home by Supertramp stuck in your head!

Sadly, today marked the end of our two and a half day weekend getaway and we had to pack up and head home. Mother Nature made sure to add insult to injury as it was a dreary rainy morning, making the task of disconnecting everything from the trailer and hooking up to the truck an unpleasant way to start the day. I felt bad for the Hubs as he bore the brunt of the discomfort, he traditionally handles the outside tasks while I make sure all is clean and tidy inside, then load the truck with anything to be taken back to the house. Luckily we’ve honed our routine and were able to escape getting miserably wet. With the trailer ready to go, we decided a nice brunch was in order and headed out in search of a restaurant. After having enjoyed a nice brunch we had to face the reality that our weekend was indeed over and we needed to start our journey home. In an attempt to prolong the weekend just a little longer, we decided to forgo the usual route home and take the scenic route instead. I must say it was a good decision...instead of the usual highway scenery we were able to enjoy the beautiful ranches and rolling hills of Central Texas, and happily Mother Nature had decided to move the clouds and showers out and bring the sun in. Our journey along the scenic route also brought a few laughs in the form of some humorous street names such as Electric Road (the cousin of Electric Avenue...now you have yet another song stuck in your head, lol), and my personal favorite M&M Ranch Road (I wonder who runs the ranch...Green M&M or Yellow M&M?). While I’m sad a wonderful weekend with the Hubs had to come to an end, I truly enjoyed our travels and adventures, and will treasure our time together. I highly recommend hitting the road and finding your own special adventures with someone you love, and hope you will be able to do so soon.
Blessings, Candi 💕
