And built it out of paper to boot!

Mother Nature decided today’s weather would make for a great day to stay inside...which is exactly what I did. I took advantage of the cool and rainy weather, and used it as an excuse to spend some time in my craft room. I have been experimenting with multi layered paper designs on my Cricut...and boy did I pick a doozy to start out with! I came across a website (on Facebook of course...where else?) which sells SVG design files. For those of you who don’t speak Cricut, an SVG file contains the cutting pattern of each layer of the design. This particular knot consists of eight different layers, and aside from the base layer which is a perfect square, they vary in their intricacy and difficulty. I had cut out the layers earlier and spent today aligning, gluing, and inserting the assembled layers in the frame. As I went about the business of assembling my knot, I was reminded of the trip to Ireland the Hubs and I took a few years ago. The countryside was breathtakingly beautiful, the many castles regal, the sheep plentiful, and the people inviting and friendly. Both the Hubs and I became infatuated with all things Irish, and after I stumbled across this particular design I knew the Hubs would love it. I’m not sure which made me happier, the memories of our time in Ireland, or the thought of creating an object that the Hubs could enjoy, and would perhaps help him to recall his own fond memories of Ireland. I hope you too might have some special object that brings to mind many happy memories.
