And then in the bay...on a ferry (you didn't really think we'd take her in the water did you!).

It's been a rainy, yet very interesting, day here in Galveston. After the Hubs and I enjoyed a yummy breakfast we decided to set out and see what adventures the day might bring...and it did not take our first adventure very long to find us! We had not even pulled out of the RV resort driveway when we were flagged down by another motorist...it would seem his "buddy" had managed to get his truck stuck in the middle of an empty lot in which it was most definitely not supposed to be (the result of an extremely poor decision made the night before after quite a bit of alcohol had been consumed). Apparently when you drive a truck that has Power Wagon emblazoned on the side of it people feel compelled to beg for your assistance in pulling their buddy's truck out of the mud. As the Hubs slowly drove towards said truck he rather quickly determined should he attempt to pull the truck out it would most likely result in both trucks being stuck. In fact Babe did begin to sink, but with some skilled driving from the Hubs (and some enthusiastic yells of "whoa...now that's what a Power Wagon is for!" from our new friend) she soon pulled herself out of the mud. After wishing our new found friend and his buddy good luck in finding a way to pull out their truck, we headed out in search of a car wash...Babe was a hot mess! Once Babe was once again presentable, we decided to take the ferry across the bay to the Bolivar Peninsula. After exploring the peninsula, and having a quick bite to eat, it was time to head back across the bay to our travel trailer (a.k.a. our little tow behind house). As we waited at the dock for the ferry to arrive, we found ourselves surrounded by what the Hubs has deemed ocean pigeons (a.k.a. seagulls), and in the distance a group of pelicans apparently fishing for their dinner. I don't know if you've ever seen a pelican hunt for their dinner, but it is quite a sight to see, in fact it very much resembles a kamikaze dive bomb (I've attached a short video for your viewing pleasure)! I'd have to say today was one I won't soon forget, and sharing such a memorable day with the Hubs made me happier than I could possibly describe. Hopefully you have had a happy and memorable day too.

Blessings, Candi 💕
