No...not that mile high club...get your mind out of the gutter!

The Hubs and I started our day off with a yummy breakfast of fresh off the tree oranges with apple slices. I have to say, it really is a treat to just walk out your door and pick your breakfast off of a tree! Sadly it will be our last opportunity to do so as we headed out of Tucson today bound for Flagstaff. Our travels brought us through Phoenix which is where we decided to stop and have a bite to eat for lunch. We stopped at a little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant called Cocina Madrigal. If you ever find yourself in Phoenix I would highly recommend you try them out. Fair warning...they are located in the not so nice looking industrial section of town and the ambiance really isn’t all that, but the food most certainly more than makes up for it! I don’t think I’ve ever had tacos as delicious as the ones I had today! With our bellies full we resumed our journey towards Flagstaff. Shortly after clearing the city limits of Phoenix (which takes a minute...Phoenix is one big city) we learned that apparently there are free roaming donkeys in the area. There are signs very similar to the deer crossing signs you see posted on most roadways however these have an image of a donkey. I would have taken a picture but we were doing 65mph on the interstate at the time. The further into our journey we went, the more the terrain and animal crossing signs changed. We started the day in an area with temperatures in the 80s and terrain that consisted mostly of dirt, scrub, and cactus with donkey crossing signs, and we ended our day in an area with temperatures in the 60s and terrain that consisted of forests of giant pine trees with deer and elk crossing signs. It is truly amazing the differences you will see in terrain simply by traveling four hours. Geography has never been one of my stronger skills so I was truly surprised to learn that Flagstaff’s elevation is 6,909 feet, another 1,629 feet higher than the “Mile High City” of Denver. Hence the Hubs and I making it into the mile high club...Lol! It was an amazing day seeing the beauty and diversity of the world God has created and I look forward to exploring more of it tomorrow. The best part is I get to do so with my best friend and soulmate! I hope you too take the time to experience the beauty of the world around you.

Blessings, Candi 💕
