Okay...maybe ā€œmetā€ isn’t the correct term, it’s not like they introduced themselves or anything, more like ā€foundā€.

I decided today would be a great day to soak up some vitamin D the old fashioned way, and refill the bird feeders while I was at it (Mr. Squirrel had decimated them yet again). Days like this are rare in Texas, you either roast in what feels like the fires of hell, or you get wet and shiver as if youā€˜ve suddenly found yourself in London, there really is no in-between most days. While I was going about my business filling the bird feeders I noticed a grouping of snails on the back wall of the house. While you may think it’s a bit of a leap to call this a ā€œfamilyā€, to me that is exactly what they represent. They’re not all the same size, some are larger, some smaller. They’re not all the same color, some are darker, some lighter. They’re not even in the same stages of their journeys, but they are still together. I think in today’s day and age we’ve sort of lost that sense of family and the fact that with our family behind us we can accomplish anything we set out to do! Take this little snail family for instance, you’ll notice it’s not the largest of them, or the oldest of them, or even maybe the fastest of them that has made it the highest on the wall, but the littlest of them all. I’d like to think it was the encouragement and love he/she received from his/her family that made it possible for the littlest of them all to make it the farthest so far. I hope in your journey of life you have family, biological or non-biological, who have given you the love and encouragement you need to achieve your dreams.
