No, not by me...did you really think I was going to scold a squirrel?!

It’s been another nice day here in Texas and all sorts of critters have been taking advantage of this wonderful weather. The bird feeders have been visited by all sorts of birds today which has been a joy to watch. All was well and quite peaceful, but not for long! Mr. Squirrel was overjoyed to see I had filled all the bird feeders again and headed down the fence line towards what he seems to think is his own personal buffet. Unfortunately for him, my dog Pogo was also enjoying the nice weather and laying out on the patio to soak up some sun (he’s quite the little sun worshipper). As I’ve mentioned before, Pogo is NOT a fan of Mr. Squirrel! It did not take long for Pogo to catch sight of Mr. Squirrel and the chase was ON! As Pogo rocketed towards the bird feeders, Mr. Squirrel decided it might be a good time to abandon his personal buffet and head for the hills! As Pogo proceeded to chase Mr. Squirrel down the fence line to the nearest tree, scolding him the entire way, I couldn’t help but giggle. This is a scene I have seen acted out many times and Pogo has yet to learn he just isn’t quite quick enough to catch Mr. Squirrel, however, he is convinced some day he will catch that danged squirrel! After letting Pogo scold Mr. Squirrel from the base of the tree for a bit, I finally finished my giggling fit and convinced Pogo he had lost for today and it was time to head inside. Pogo’s seemingly endless optimism at some day catching Mr. Squirrel never fails to make me smile (and giggle). I hope you are inspired by someone’s optimism today as well.
