And before you ask.....NO, it wasn’t pumpkin spice!!!

I know you’re probably thinking...”A cup of coffee is nothing special!”, and you’re absolutely correct. There was nothing special about this cup of coffee (it was a salted caramel flavored coffee if you’re wondering), but it wasn’t the cup of coffee that made my heart feel a little lighter, it was what that cup of coffee represented that did. Anyone who‘s ever met me would probably tell you that my middle name should be Procrastination and they wouldn’t be wrong. Tomorrow is the start of the fall semester of a course I am taking and the first assignment is due, but in spite of having obtained the books needed for this course last week, I have put off doing my assigned reading for as long as possible. It was only the overwhelming sense of panic that I experienced this morning when I woke up that prompted me to sit my butt down and start reading! I told myself that if by some miracle I managed to finish the assigned reading, I would treat myself to a nice cup of coffee as a reward. It’s not really the coffee, but rather the sense of accomplishment and relief at having finally buckled down and finished my assignment that made my heart feel a little lighter than it had a moment ago. We all put ourselves under pressure some days, and I hope if you find yourself in a similar situation, you will find your cup of coffee (or preferred beverage) waiting for you too.
Blessings, Candi 💕
