Well, that doesn’t sound very uplifting or positive...it really is...I promise!

It’s been a rough few days here in Texas. The sun has decided it doesn’t want to grace us with it’s presence, and has been in that mood for over a week now. All those gloomy and rainy days have started to take a toll, but all that changed this morning...the sun finally decided to come out from behind all those dark clouds! Now that I was finally able to sit out on the back patio and soak up some good old vitamin D, I realized that my bird feeders were in a terrible state. It seems our resident squirrel (who, much to the dislike of my dog Pogo, seems to be thriving) had decided he was going to empty out all the feeders. He really is quite a little stinker! He seems to take great pleasure in emptying all the feeders, but I have no idea what he does with all that food...it’s more than he could possibly fit in his little squirrel belly! Maybe he’s feeding a whole squirrel colony, who knows, but I digress. Being able to sit on the patio or in the living room and watch the birds eat from the feeders has always brought me a sense of peace. Seeing the Cardinals, Blue Jays, Morning Doves, and even the occasional Hummingbird is always a special treat. Especially the Hummingbirds, they’re shy little creatures! Now that all the feeders have been freshly stocked for the birds, I think I’ll sit here for a bit to see who will be the first to enjoy the fresh seeds. My money is on the squirrel being the first, but hey, they need to eat too, right? I hope you find your own special treat that brings you a sense of peace as well.

Blessings, Candi 💕
