Yep...sometimes it really is the little things that make your day better!

As you know if you’ve read my previous posts, COVID has invaded our household and we are now on a 10 day quarantine lockdown. For many, this would be made a bit easier by having family around to help out should it be needed, but for the Hubs and I that isn’t the case. See, the Hubs and I are not native Texans, but transplants, and as such we have no biological family close enough to be of help if needed (the exception being the Hubs youngest child who ordinarily lives with us, but is currently riding out her own 10 day quarantine at a separate location). You’ll note that I referenced ā€œbiologicalā€ family just a moment ago. I did so because in the past few days I have come to realize that while we may not have biological family to help us if needed, we have many friends that have made sure to make us feel like we have family around to help if needed. Today that was demonstrated by the kind act of members of our church family leaving a ā€œCOVID Care Packageā€ at our front door. That small care package was so much more than just a few snacks, drinks, and self care items, it was a symbol of the non-biological family we have gained here in Texas. The many texts to check on our well-being, and offers of help from our Texas family have helped to make a difficult situation better and my heart feel lighter. I hope you have plenty of family, whether it is biological, non-biological, or both to help you in the difficult times as well.
